Summer term:

Monday 16th May

Good morning!

Firstly, I would like to say a huge congratulations to ALL of Year 6 for their resilience and determination last week. They approached the week with maturity and were so focused, putting all of their efforts into each assessment. I hope that they had a fantastic, relaxing weekend.

The week ahead is busy as usual - we are creating our own Theme Park in maths - costing the rides, the amenities, the paving, food etc.... we may make some business men / women out of them yet.

On Thursday afternoon we are holding auditions for our end of year production of 'Darwin Rocks' - very exciting.

At 3.30 today there is a meeting in the gym for our Residential to the Isle of Wight this year where we will fill you in on all the details for the week.

Finally, we have been creating 'Fatima's Hand' from the Five Pillars of Islam - the children were very creative with clay and produced some beautiful work. We will be completing them this week and painting them.

In Art, we have been looking at Impressionism, starting with the work of Monet where the children have been looking at mixing and creating colours to match the colours in Monet's 'Japanese Bridge'.
