Home learning will come home on a Friday, to begin with, we are asking that your child practising writing the letters they have already learnt, as we go through the term there will be other worksheets and practise pieces inside.

Each week, you will be given the list of letters they have been working on, these are there for your child to practise the formation.

You can find the rhymes for each letter on the laminated master sheet that was sent home.

Please encourage them to practise these on one page of the book per week.

As the year goes on, we will send more detailed work out for the children. But please remember, the homework should be treated flexibly. We send it home Friday, and ask for it back Wednesday so that you have lots of time to work on it in small chunks. If your child does not want to do it one evening, please don’t worry, try another time.

Please can we remind all parents that the home learning is for work that we have set, of course we encourage your child to continue working if they want to, but please avoid doing this in their home learning book. This is also their first formal homework book, so please encourage them to treat it with respect and keep it neat and tidy.

The work sent home is always to help each child, it will not always be the same for the whole class, so please try to ensure you are looking through it and completing as much as possible every week.
