Week 1

We started our history topic by looking at who was Florence Nightingale and we looked at the different qualities needed to be a nurse. 

In computing, we recapped being safe online. We discussed the different things we can do to be safe when using the internet.

In geography, we began to make observations about the weather and we discussed how the weather differs in the seasons.

In Maths we have been learning more strategies about subraction and had a go at being a teacher each to the class.

We have really enjoyed our new English in the style of Talk for Writing. We made our own class story map and have actions to go along with the story too!

Week 2

Firstly a big congratulations to all on your amazinging world book day costumes! They were brilliant. We enjoyed strutting down the catwalk showing them off to reception and year 2. 
This week we have learned about significant events in Florence Nightingales life. How to draw water. How wind can be measured.

Week 3

This week we finished studying our model text (Last stop on market street) and created our own versions of the story. In maths we continued to look at place value within 50. In art our aim of the lesson was to experiment and explore the different drawing mediums building an understanding of the effects they create. In Geography we studied clouds and then created our own pictures of the clouds to deepen our understanding.
