Autumn 2 - Our Learning
This term we turned our focus to History and the events of the Great Fire of London and enjoyed learning about how it spread and what happened to London after the fire. We also enjoyed a fun filled day at Beauclerc where we had a workshop all about the time of the Great Fire and had lots of hands on activities including being true detectives and investigating artefacts from the fire!
In English, we used the book Vlad and the Great Fire of London as a stimulus for diary writing and then wrote a fact sheet all about the great diary writer Samuel Pepys.
In Maths, we continued to look at addition and subtraction with larger numbers and using tens and ones to help us.
In Science, we investigated various materials and how suitable they were for different uses.
We enjoyed putting on the Christmas Show ‘Simply the Nativity’ which told the story of the First Christmas which we were also learning about through different paintings and pictures in RE.
