Lunch Menus
School Meals
Many studies have shown that hunger affects concentration, and that well-nourished children fare better at school. The government now funds school lunches for all infant aged children.
At Chennestone, we recognise that keeping our students fuelled with a healthy, balanced diet is one of the most important things we can do to support their learning throughout school time. That’s why we are proud to offer a range of carefully curated menu which is packed full of flavour and as nutritious as it gets!
We have a kitchen on site and all our meals are prepared by our fantastic kitchen staff from Edwards and Ward, who are also able to cater for most allergies. For more information, please follow the link below or contact your child’s school office.
All children are entitled to receive a free school meal, regardless of household income, providing they are in a Government funded school and in Reception, Year 1, or Year 2. This entitlement is called Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM).
Your child may be entitled to a Free School Meal, please speak in confidence to a member of the School Office or see details below for more information.
Please log in to Scopay to choose a lunch for each day, for your child.
Please note, the menu is changing from September 2025.
Free School Meal Eligibility & Pupil Premium Application Forms
Free school meals can be provided to pupils if Parents/Carers meet the eligibility criteria set out in the forms on our websites.
All children from Year 3 upwards, would need a form completed so that eligibility for Pupil Premium Funding can be checked.
Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools for pupils who have been registered as being entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) at any point in the last 6 years. Schools receive this funding to support their eligible pupils and narrow the attainment gap between them and their peers.
To register please click on the relevant link below and complete the boxes using black ink and return it to the school office.
Free School Meal Eligibility
Could you be entitled to Free School Meals for your child which works out to the value of over £500 per annum? Please check out this link for the eligibility criteria.
Even if your child is in Reception to Year 2 where they will be entitled to a Government Funded Universal Free School Meal, we would encourage parents to complete the application for Free School Meals as, in certain circumstances, you may be awarded help with the costs of you providing food for your child during the school holiday periods.
