MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING
Pupil Wellbeing
At Beauclerc and Chennestone we aim to promote positive social, emotional and mental health for everyone. We use a range of approaches in and out of class, to help support all children with their emotional health, wellbeing and social development.
We are incredibly lucky to have Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA), who works across both Beauclerc and Chennestone. Mrs Cockerell, supports our children’s emotional development and helps them cope with life’s challenges. She also helps children and young people to find solutions to problems they might have.
Mrs Cockerell has achieved an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) qualification. This course covers a wide range of essential skills, from emotional literacy to the art of active listening, allowing Mrs Cockerell to support our pupils in more meaningful ways. Additionally, Mrs Cockerell is in her final year of studying for a degree in psychology. This commitment to her professional development shows her dedication not only to her role but also to the well-being of the children in her care. With this professional training and her compassionate nature, Mrs Cockerell is well-equipped to foster a nurturing environment where every child feels valued and heard.
If you are concerned about your child's mental health or wellbeing, please contact Mrs Cockerell, our ELSA or Mrs McNamara, our Home School Link Worker on 01932 785477 or email info@chennestone.surrey.sch.uk. You don't need to leave details just ask for a call back.
